If you follow American rap, you've surely heard of the long case of YNW Melly. Arrested since 2019, accused of the double murder of his two childhood friends YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser, the rapper has already completed about 7 years in prison without a final conviction.
On Thursday (April 30, 2026), another stage of the bail hearing took place (Arthur Hearing). During the session, the defense presented requests that are still under review by the state, while Judge Martin S. Fein followed the arguments of both parties.
The case is still ongoing and the rapper will remain detained while awaiting the final position of justice. The final trial is still scheduled only for January 2027, which makes this bail hearing the only way for Melly to get out of prison before then.
